Extreme Bowen-York initial data

The Bowen-York family of spinning black hole initial data depends essentially on one, positive, free parameter. The extreme limit corresponds to making this parameter equal to zero. This choice represents a singular limit for the constraint equations. We prove that in this limit a new solution of the constraint equations is obtained. These initial data have similar properties to the extreme Ker...

Small deformations of extreme Kerr black hole initial data

We prove the existence of a family of initial data for Einstein equations which represent small deformations of the extreme Kerr black hole initial data. The data in this family have the same asymptotic geometry as extreme Kerr. In particular, the deformations preserve the angular momentum and the area of the cylindrical end.

Prioritization method for non-extreme ecient unitsin data envelopment analysis

Super eciency data envelopment analysis(DEA) model can be used in ranking the performanceof ecient decision making units(DMUs). In DEA, non-extreme ecient unitshave a super eciency score one and the existing super eciency DEA models do notprovide a complete ranking about these units. In this paper, we will propose a methodfor ranking the performance of the extreme and non-extreme ecient units.

Extreme Data

T he current era of extreme data culled from a range of diverse data sources, ranging from extreme-scale simulations to instruments, experiments, and pervasive sensors and systems (the so-called Internet of Things), has the potential for revolutionizing science, engineering, and society in general. Unprecedented instrumentation and the exponential growth of digital data sources, coupled with un...

On Processing Extreme Data

Extreme Data is an incarnation of Big Data concept distinguished by the massive amounts of data that must be queried, communicated and analyzed in near real-time by using a very large number of memory or storage elements and exascale computing systems. Immediate examples are the scientific data produced at a rate of hundreds of gigabits-per-second that must be stored, filtered and analyzed, the...
